René Beauclair (1947-2024)

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of René Beauclair, former Head of the Cinémathèque québécoise's documentation centre (1981-2012). In 1987 he became actively involved in the FIAF Documentation Commission, and continued to serve as a member of the FIAF Cataloguing and Documentation Commission (which was established in 1997) until 2007. René Beauclair acted as editor of the Bibliography of FIAF Members’ Publications (in 2006 it would be renamed Bibliography of FIAF Affiliates’ Publications) for twenty years (from 1990 to 2010). He was also an indexer for FIAF's Periodicals Indexing Project for no less than 38 years (from 1983 to 2020).
