field of cinema, we have a study center, a movie theater and
a film collection. How could we become a FIAF member ?
A: Please verify if your institution is eligible for affiliation with FIAF, and refer to the Membership Information section, where you will find all the information you need, as well as a printable admission questionnaire.
FAQ: What are the possible affiliation categories?
A: There are two categories of affiliation with FIAF: Members and Associates. In any case, Members and Associates are non-for-profit associations. For definition of Members and Associates, refer to the Membership Information section.
FAQ: Our company does not conform to the
definition of Member or Associate. Is there another way of
supporting FIAF's activities and be informed about them ?
A: Your company might join FIAF as a FIAF subscriber. See definition of FIAF subscriber in the Membership Information section.
FAQ: We would like to know about the archival
world. Could you please give us some information about preservation,
documentation, cataloguing and access practices ?
A: As a first step, we suggest you to look into our FIAF bookshop. Most of the subjects that interest you have been treated in our publications. Refer to the Publication section/FIAF bookshop.

A: Some of that material could be interesting from a film-history point of view, but might be in danger of decay. We therefore suggest you to contact the closest FIAF Film Archive. Refer to FIAF Directory.

A: We suggest you to contact the closest FIAF Film Archive. Refer to FIAF Directory. And ask for the documentation officer. You might also contact the Head of the "FIAF Documentation and Cataloguing Commission".

A: In any case, we suggest you to contact a FIAF Archive (see FIAF Directory). Our colleagues could be interested in one or another of the object of your collection. He could also be helpful in valuating your collection and orienting you towards a possible buyer.

the 30's. How can I get a copy of that film ?
A: Please contact the closest FIAF Film Archive (Refer to FIAF Directory) and specify what kind of copy you require. There are technical, historical, copyright implications that are to be discussed with our colleagues.

A: As a first step, we recommend you to contact our FIAF Affiliate(s) in your country. Itinerant programs might be organized in cooperation with our Programming and Access to Collection Commission. (refer to the Programming and Access to Collection Commission section)
